With the looming release of Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver, Nintendo has announced that a special Pikachu Colored (Shiny) Pichu will be made available to download at Gamestop soon.
This Pichu, when traded over to Heart Gold or Soul Silver, will then activate a special event in Johto's Ilex Forest that unlocks the special Spiky-Eared Pichu, which has a different appearance from normal Pichu and knows special moves such as Pain Split.
The event will take place from January 30th to February 14th at, surprisingly, Gamestop stores across the US instead of Toys R Us. This isn't surprising however, as Gamestop have distributed event Pokemon before.
Players will be able to download the special Pichu wirelessly to their copy of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. More on the event as it comes.
